The women of Saint Anne Women’s Scripture Sharing gather together to read and study God’s word found in scripture and to share our faith with one another. In this way, we follow the directives of the Bible to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), share our gifts (1 Peter 4:10), and together enhance our spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:16).
Beginning on Monday, February 2, we will begin our study, The Gospel According to Matthew, Parts One and Two. Standing at the start of the New Testament, the Gospel of Matthew provides a bridge from the Jewish world awaiting a Messiah to the emerging Christian world of Jesus and his followers. This Gospel introduces us to Jesus as the Master Teacher whose words of instruction are captured in large teaching sections. Part One covers Matthew 1:1–16:28, from the birth of Jesus through much of his public teaching life, to the first prediction of his passion. Part Two reveals a growing tension as Jesus ministers around Jerusalem, is arrested, is crucified, and rises to new life. Revealed as Emmanuel (God with us) at the start of the Gospel, Jesus will promise his continuing presence as the disciples are commissioned at the close of the Gospel. This is a nine-week study and all are welcome!
We meet on Mondays, with this study beginning February 2, from 9:15-11:15 a.m. upstairs in the Parish Center conference room.
The cost to participate is $40 which includes two study books as well as commentary, study and reflection questions, prayers, and access to online lectures.
You will receive payment information upon receipt of your registration.
