Last summer, parishioners of Saint Anne opened their homes and hearts by hosting a backyard Mass, a beautiful way to share faith and fellowship with family, friends, and neighbors in an intimate setting.
These gatherings provided a unique opportunity to experience the sacred liturgy in the midst of God’s creation, surrounded by loved ones. With a simple altar setup, the Eucharist becomes the centerpiece of a joyful and prayerful gathering.
Scheduling for Backyard Masses for the summer 2026 will begin next spring. Please watch for sign-up details!

Hosting a Backyard Mass?
Hosting a backyard Mass is not only a meaningful spiritual experience but also a wonderful way to build community. Whether you invite a few close friends or a larger circle, each celebration helps strengthen the bonds of faith and brings Christ’s presence more personally into our everyday lives. It’s a reminder that Church isn’t confined to a building, it lives wherever two or more are gathered in His name.
For the Mass, the presider will need:
A table covered with a white cloth to serve as an altar
Someone to share the reading(s) and responsorial psalm of the day
Everything else is up to you -- who and how many to invite, what to serve, etc.
